A Glassie Place

Pat Stone is the owner of Glassie Ladies.  She is the daughter of Jon and Bettye Formo, both of whom were creative and artistic.  Jon was a Professor of Art at the University of South Carolina and encouraged Pat to draw and create from a very young age.  "When I was a little girl, my parents would not buy coloring books for me.  Instead, I would draw my own pictures and then color them."  As she got older, renderings of historical buildings and homes were one of her specialties and she was featured in galleries and shops at Myrtle Beach.

In 2015, after 18 years of creating glass art, Pat moved from her home studio and opened Glassie Ladies.  The shop provides glass, supplies and lessons, but teaching mosaic, glass fusing and stained glass is the most important part of what they do.  All lessons are one on one and scheduled.  Pat believes the most rewarding part of owning this business and serving customers is watching students grow and become creative artists in their own right.​
